I’ve been working as a freelance journalist for over fourteen years. It’s been a somewhat eclectic career, and I wouldn’t have it any other way; I’ve written on everything from sex and relationships to mental health and civilian harm

Back in 2011, I started out reviewing arts and culture events and shows for Culture24, before moving on to LGBTQ+ journalism. I’d go on to write regularly for London’s Time Out and Gay Star News.

My dream job came in 2014: executive editor of independent magazine Beige, which, contrary to its name, was anything but dull! Across two wild and wonderful years, I interviewed everyone from Andy Bell to Joan Collins, Rankin, Peter Tatchell and Will Young.

From there it was on to editing regional title Sussex Style, before taking a sharp left turn…

In 2016, I began working for Airwars, a not-for-profit transparency watchdog tracking, assessing and investigating civilian harm claims in conflict-affected nations. As research manager, I oversaw web publishing, authoring data-driven monthly and annual reports (including fundraising bids) and contributing to submissions to UK Parliament.

I’m a certified copywriter and have produced hundreds of articles for dating site Gays.com, written for The New HumanitarianThe Huffington Post, and even had a stint reviewing theatre for The Londonist

An accomplished public speaker, I’ve debated at the Cambridge Union, read my fiction at The Stoke Newington Literary Festival, and delivered talks at The University of Cambridge, Queen Mary University of London, and University of the Arts London. I’ve been interviewed on BBC radio, Out in South London on Resonance FM, and German TV channel WDR Fernsehen.
